  • Comments Thread For: Quigg To Face Hidenori Otake on Cleverly-Bellew II Bill

Quigg defends his title for the fifth time against Otake, ranked at number three with the IBF and coming to England off the back of four successful defences of the Japanese title he claimed in August 2012.

The Bury star saw off the spirited challenge of Belgium’s Stephane Jamoye with a trademark body shot in the third round of their clash in Manchester in September, and the 26 year old is looking for another explosive performance to close a great year in the ring.

“I can't wait to defend my World title in Liverpool on November 22 on a huge night for British boxing,” said Quigg. [Click Here To Read More]

I'm going to hop over to ze Youtubes and watch some Otake. On paper it looks like he'll be able to give Quigg some rounds at least. It's not a great fight but on 4 weeks notice and considering Quigg's quality - can't really complain.

    I didn't think Agbeko-Quigg would happen anyway.

Never heard of this guy. Boxrec has him taking a fight 4 days prior to Quigg. Not sure if that's still accurate.

Calling McDonnell's fight with Ramos a "title defense" is beyond silly. Ramos is ranked 111th by boxrec, lost a flyweight title shot eight years ago and hasn't beaten anyone since. Almost as bad as Quigg vs Jamoye right after Jaymoye had been KO'd in another title fight. I guess "fans" will pay for anything as long as it's called a "world title defense."

There ain't going to be many fans there that would've paid to see McDonnell. I agree it's a poor opponent but it's just a stay busy fight. There are plenty of other very good fights on that card.

he looks good, its a solid opponent, imo, not the fastest hands but he seems to have good defensive anticipation in ducking his head at the right moment. If thats him in the black trunks blue gloves in his only defeat im guessing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCHZ1mwggko
