  • Comments Thread For: Abregu To Provodnikov: After I KO Ali, Big Fight is Here!

Former junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov (23-3, 16KOs) is now being targeted by another dangerous puncher, Luis Carlos Abregu (36-1, 29KOs), who faces unbeaten Olympian Sadam Ali (20-0, 12KOs) on November 8th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

In a recent article on BoxingScene.com, Provodnikov complained that he was turned down by several Top Rank promoted fighters.

Provodnikov's promoter Artie Pelullo, CEO of Banner Promotions, claimed Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum was refusing to offer up Tim Bradley, Diego Chaves, Jessie Vargas and Brandon Rios.

lol did he just say Bradley avoided a rematch with him? Why the **** would he agree to a rematch? Their first fight wasn't competitive, close or controversial.

Abregu is a decent all-round fighter but his chin is weak, Provodnikov could stop him despite not being a big puncher.

Lol Abregu is the chinny version of Maidana, I expect him to beat Ali, but you never know, wouldn't be surprised if Ali drops him and hurts him.

        Anyway Provo would break Abregu

Ali got this, abregu isnt very good but he does have a punchers chance imo. I got 15T on ali who wants it?

Abregu needs to remind himself of his chin, I respect the heck out of him though, he has heart.

I question Ali's as well.... Abregu has the better body of work though.

I think he's only been down once in his last fight too... not listed on Boxrec though
