London’s Dillian Whyte will make his long-awaited comeback in November, with the 28th the likely fight date. The heavyweight will fight for the first time since his two-year UKAD ban on a Mickey Helliet-promoted show. Helliet confirmed both the news and the provisional November date to BoxingScene earlier today.
Whyte was handed a stiff sanction for his unwitting use of the banned substance Methylhexaneamine. He tested positive after his last fight, a fourth-round TKO win over Sandor Balogh in Oct. '12, but the positive test stemmed from his use of an over-the-counter supplement called Jack3D, which had been banned in the U.K. in August '12 and placed on the UKAD’s prohibited list. Whyte’s defence that he had been misinformed was not successful and he was given the maximum in-performance term.
