Comments Thread For: Walters: I Told You Guys I Would Seize The Knockout!

WBA featherweight champion Nicholas Walters (25-0, 21KOs) has no regrets about opening himself up to a big counter from Nonito Donaire in their second round of their fight on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Walters was on wobbly legs after Donaire checked his chin with a big counter at the end of the second. He quickly recovered between rounds and came back to drop Donaire in the third.

I actually thought he would not be able to keep a disclpined fight but he did...fought nonito on the outside and kept him at the end of his punches...unfortunealy for nonito, even at close range he was still getting the worse of it....

The post fight interview was honestly one of the most refreshing that I have ever seen. It actually turned me into a fan of both fighters.

Agreed. Walters turned me into a fan Saturday night. What a humble person. Will be cheering him on going forward.
