  • Comments Thread For: Gennady Golovkin: My Power Was Too Much For Rubio

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) knew the end was near when he stopped Marco Antonio Rubio in the second round Saturday night, at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Golovkin landed a left hand to the forehead and Rubio dropped down to the canvas and couldn't get up in time, with the referee waving things off and the Mexican boxer's record dropping down to 59-7-1.

Rubio was talking a big game before the fight too. Everyone just seems a little shocked when they first get tagged, Ola Afolabi has said GGG punches like a Heavyweight.

GGG , the breath of fresh air boxing desperately needs.

will be glad when he takes over the P4P spot by taking on and defending his champeenship with KO's !!!!!!

I love how Golovkin angles that punch to avoid rubio's guard. Golovkin is such a offensive monster. Such an exciting fighter to watch.

RUBIO looked like a D-level amateur compared to GGG,not only power but also his boxing was too much. Daniel Geale looked also a amateur and he is former WBA/IBF middleweight world champion, guys GGG is the real deal. Quillin,Taylor,Ndam,Murray,Koborov,Martinez all will lose with GGG and perhaps all by stoppage. Cotto is smaller pehaps too small to compete with GGG but with his experience and skills maybe survive to the decision, anyway riht now 12 rounds with Golovkin is THE HELL!

Rubio took a dive and the speedy count from that ref proved the fight was fixed. Sorry nuthuggers but the fight was fixed.......
