Former two division world champion Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) had a big year, headlining two consecutive pay-per-view events against the man regarded as the pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Maidana is taking the remainder of the year off to rest his body and spend time with his family.

Robert Garcia, who trains Maidana, would like to see him back in a major fight in 2014 - preferably against WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who defends his title on November 22nd against Chris Algieri.

if floyd doesnt wanna fight pac, manny should just forget about him. there's plenty of other fighters out there for manny that can still make big money but as for floyd, if no pac fight then what? LOL

style makes fight. i think maidana might be the toughest one yet but his style will fall right into manny. i think manny will light maidana up. i predict a bruised up bloody maidana.

I would love to see any of those 3 fights.
Matthysse would also be great if he is willing to fight him.
Hope he fights at least 2 times next year (3 if he can end them early). With Canelo moving to HBO hopefully they have more money in their budget to make big fights like this.
