According to super middleweight Marco Antonio Periban (20-2-1, 13KOs), a deal is in place to face Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (19-1, 13KOs) on November 22nd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. DeGale is the mandatory challenger to Carl Froch's IBF championship.
Periban felt he was robbed in his last fight, believing that he knocked out J'Leon Love on the undercard of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. card in Las Vegas. He felt because Love is promoted by Mayweather, the referee was influenced to allow the boxer to continue and win what Periban felt was an unjust decision. He wants to do his best to avoid a fight with DeGale from reaching the judges.
