Comments Thread For: Celestino Caballero Pondering His Future in Boxing

Former world champion Celestino “Pelenchin” Caballero (37-6, 24KOs) was beaten up and punished for twelve rounds on Saturday night in Los Mochis, when he went down four times from hard punches being fired by undefeated Adrian Estrella (19-0, 17KOs).

Caballero was dropped twice in the fifth, when he was nearly knocked out cold. He surived but then saw himself get knocked down again in the tenth and in the eleventh. The scores were very lopsided in the end, 117-107 twice and 115-109.

What is there to ponder? He hasn't been the Pelenchin that I was a big fan of for years. Retire.

A top level guy 4 a long time.I saw the bout & though he lost be showed many defects in Estrella. Good luck, Pelenchin, being a ref would b good 4 him.

Frankly I don't see how he got out of that 5th round. He has guts that's for certain. Good run, champ with several title defenses. Nothing to be ashamed of.
