Comments Thread For: Nathan Cleverly-Tony Bellew Rematch is Sold Out

The rematch between Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew on November 22 live on Sky Sports Box Office, has become the fastest selling sporting event at Liverpool’s Echo Arena after selling out in under 48 hours.

The bitter rivals return to the venue of their first clash in 2011 to finally face each other once again, and fight fans have snapped up all of the tickets on sale inside 48 hours. Their explosive second encounter, this time at Cruiserweight, is supported by a bumper undercard featuring Scott Quigg defending his WBA World Super Bantamweight title and Jamie McDonnell defending his WBA Bantamweight strap against Walberto Ramos.

Why? This card is brilliant value for a ticket.

      Bellew v Clev
      Quigg v Agbeko
      DeGale v Periban(?)
Crolla v TBA (Abril is rumoured, doubt that'll happen though)
      Callum Smith v Sjekloca
      Joshua v Sprott
      McDonell v Tomato can.

      And more to be added.

However it shouldn't be PPV, they could have made two quality Sky Sports cards out of them. And when we pay £30 a month for Sky Sports we shouldn't have to pay an extra £15-£18 for every good card. Most fans feel aggrieved that Matchroom's regular shows seemed to have dipped in quality since PPV was re-introduced and I agree it's a bit of a pîsstake.

But to be there in person, £40 isn't bad value at all for all those fights.

I just can't imagine going to a show with such an underwhelming main event. It's already been done and it was a more significant fight back then. And it wasn't even that entertaining a fight.

Most people who bought tickets are dumb Scousers who have bought into this fake diluted rivalry that Eddie Hearn has manufactured between Bellew and Cleverly. Hence....mugs

I'll be paying for this if the undercard is as good as been said, if they can get DeGale Bika on the card that would be great.

I like the fight, tbh. Just don't think its PPV.

I don't think their rivalry is manufactured, but Sky really do have a history of peddling fake rivalries (Haye v Harrison) and will milk it for all it's worth.

It's a competitive fight which will probably earn the winner a title shot. The rivalry is an after thought for me.

It's going to be DeGale vs Periban

I think it's just two guys who failed at world level in one weight class, put on a bit of weight and are now rematching each other on PPV....neither have really done anything at Cruiserweight to earn a title shot.

I wouldn't mind going, I was actually looking for tickets to actually attend this fight but I was not willing to pay for it on PPV.

If the tickets are actually 40 quid, that's not bad. I might go if I lived in Liverpool.
