  • Comments Thread For: WBO Prez Not on Board With Mid-Point Scoring System

The president of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Francisco Valcarcel, is not on board with the idea of having a mid-point scoring system for future fights.

During a recent meeting in Mexico between the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Association (WBA) - the Presidents of the three sanctioning bodies were in agreement to test the idea of a mid-point (9.5, 8.5, etc.) scoring system on non-championships fights. The WBA has used such a system in overseas events.

Midpoint scoring seems lame. But the WBO better hop on board with unification.
