Comments Thread For: Cleverly-Bellew 2 Reportedly Done For November 22

According to multiple UK reports, the rematch between rivals Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew is set for November 22nd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. The rematch takes place three years after Cleverly beat Bellew with a twelve round majority decision to retain his WBO light heavyweight title.

Both fighters moved up to cruiserweight after suffering knockout defeats in 2013. Cleverly (28-1, 14KOs) was knocked out by Sergey Kovalev in August, and Bellew (22-2-1, 14KOs) was blasted out by WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson in November.

Eddie Hearn is desperately trying to make this fight more relevant than it actually is.

I agree completely. I don't think anyone outside of the UK gives a damn about this fight. Not to mention the fact that even boxing fans in the UK don't seem too excited about it. I guess it could end up being exciting to watch but these two guys have proven they aren't elite level fighters and thus have both moved up to the least competitive and most pathetic weight class, Crusier (Snoozer) Weight. They have more of a chance to get a title at CW than LHW but even if they do, will anyone care?

So you are only interested in the elite boxers?
Cleverly has only lost to Kovalev. I'm not suggesting he is elite with this comment.
The fight is 50/50 but the last one whilst a good fight wasn't electric. The styles didn't really mesh maybe this is why there isn't so much excitement.
