Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Aims For Five Divisional World Titles

WBC flyweight world champion Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (40-0, 34 KOs) has captured world titles at 105, 108 and 112-pounds. He doesn't plan to stop there. Gonzalez wants to eventually move up and capture world titles at 115 and 118-pounds.

He wants to unify with WBO/WBA champion Juan Franisco Estrada and the move up toe 115-pounds in 2015. Next up is a title defense in Japan in November.

And get less credit compared to someone popular that has won belts in 2/3 divisions. All because most people don't even pay attention to the lowet weights.

Saw Roman on Golpe A Golpe this weekend and I was surprised at how nice the guy is. Extremely humble, very knowledgable about the sport. I wish him nothing but the best! WAR CHOCO!!!

If Mares who isn't a dedicated pressure fighter imposed himself and beat Chemito over 12, I'm confident Roman's style is more than enough to overwhelm the evasive Moreno. However, it all depends on how well Roman is able to move up through the divisions. Will he maintain his power and stamina? Also, I'm aware Moreno lost to Mares in a weightclass that didn't favor him, so perhaps Moreno can surprise me and pull off the victory at 118.

This will be easy work for El Chocolatito. I'd like to see him take his time and unify each division from hear on out though. As Ric Flair would say, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man...Wwwhhhhheeeewwww".
