    MGM Grand, Las Vegas - BoxingScene.com has been advised that junior middleweight contender James Kirkland (32-1, 28KOs) is strongly being considered to open up HBO's November 8th card from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The event, co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events, will be headlined by a highly anticipated light heavyweight unification between Bernard Hopkins and Sergey Kovalev.

      Kirkland would be a great opening act. I would prefer that it was against someone better than Rosado though.

        what took Kirkland so long to get back in the ring after the tapia fight ? everytime he builds some momentum/buzz he has a layoff after

            Lol "someone better" Rosado outboxes sluggish Kirkland easily and most likely gets robbed by the judges.

              TRUE that. This guys gets a good camp and has a great outing then nothing. Jail issues, trainer issues promo issues. This guys fun to watch, but doesnt fIGHT often enough to stay fresh in boxing fans minds. he has the exciting style to be very popular.
