Comments Thread For: Estrada Eyes Revenge With Roman Gonzalez Unification

WBO/WBA flyweight Juan Francisco Estrada (27-2, 20KOs) thinks the time is right for a rematch with Roman Gonzalez, who just captured the WBC title last Friday with a knockout victory over champion Akira Yaegishi in Japan. Estrada himself was in action on Saturday, stopping mandatory challenger Giovani Segura in eleven rounds.

Estrada met Gonzalez at junior flyweight in 2012, with the Nicaraguan fighter winning an exciting twelve round unanimous decision in Los Angeles. Gonzalez then moved up to flyweight and captured his titles with a decision win over Brian Viloria. Since then, he's successfully defended his titles three times.

This is what I'm talking about. These fighters at the lower weights have no fear. People need to respect them.

Estrada/Gonzalez II is one of the biggest fights that can be made at the moment. I would like to see it on Cinco de Mayo. It would be a perfect undercard fight and it would give these two fighters a lot of exposure. They definitely deserve it.

Damn man, if Estrada manages to beat Chocolatito on Cinco de Mayo weekend he would reach instant superstar status.

      This rematch HAS to happen!

I think Roman is fighting Luis Concepcion next.
