  • Comments Thread For: Santa Cruz Still Focused on Getting Rigondeaux Next

WBC Super bantamweight champion Leo "Terremoto" Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15 KOs) is ready to test his silky skills against Manuel "Suavecito" Roman (17-2-3, 6 KOs) on Saturday September 13th at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. After this fight, Santa Cruz wants a unification with WBC/WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Leo, who trains with his Father, Jose Santa Cruz, and his brothers, Jose Armando and Roberto, commented - " I am in excellent condition. I started my training camp a month ago, and if the fight was tomorrow I'd be ready to climb into the ring."

As a Santa Cruz fan, and someone who thinks he's pretty good, I'm worried he's going the same route as Quillin.

I really hope that's not what happens.

I would like to see it am I am sure he does want to fight Rigo, but his promoter I am sure does not.

We see what happened with Kid Chocolate and everybody is blaming him for not defending his belt but i would bet money he was "advised" not to very strongly.
