  • Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux-Avalos Targeted For Miami, Says Caribe

Yesterday BoxingScene.com ran two articles in which WBO/WBA junior featherweight champion Guillermo "El Chacal" Rigondeaux spoke about his promotional status and also the possibility of facing his mandatory challenger Chris Avalos in the fall. Rigondeaux is currently promoted by Caribe Promotions but is looking for a co-promoter.

Shortly after our conversation with Rigondeaux, BoxingScene.com spoke to Caribe Promotions President Boris Arencibia about the company's plan for the two time Olympic gold medalist.

What a shame . You are the promoter , right ? Go to the purse bid and outbid bob arum and then make the fight here in miami by yourself . You don't need other promoter to do it . Don't you ?
Wait , I get it , you don't have the money to outbid too rank and if there is an agreement , then you get paid your percentage right ?

What a shame , man . Let rigo free , you can't promote a damn card , nor get rigo a fight , unless there is somebody else who get the fight , gets the tv , and out the money .

Hope bob arum doesn't agree to any term and this go to purse bid in sept the first , next Monday in Puerto Rico , as you said , and roc nation " jay z " beats both you and bob arum . Rigondeaux deserves better .

Hit and not be hit .

Frank Warren will surely build Rigo into the Miami draw he has always wanted to be.
