Carl Moretti, VP of Top Rank, and WBO President Paco Valcarcel, were stunned to see Roc Nation Sports take part, and then thrown down a tremendous sum, on the Peter Quillin vs. Matt Korobov purse bid in Puerto Rico.

Quillin, the WBO's middleweight champion, is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Korobov is handled by Top Rank.

I hope Bob just starts putting up huge bids to p*ss on the rest of the competition. Some profit loss, who cares, you'll be the Dope MuthaFugga.

That's one way of getting folks to notice you as a name in boxing. Shock the competition, always great for the sport.

It's better for both fighters, they probably won't see that type of money again.

Korobov, as a challenger, is getting 475K and he's never headlined or even been close to headlining a fight.

Neither one is a headliner. That is why this bid is so shocking LOL. Both are undercard guys making big money this fight. The WBO, WBC, WBA and IBF are going to start forcing purse bid fights like crazy now, and have a direct line to JayZ

Doubtful. Top Rank had the cheapest bid, money must be tight over there. Especially with not much profit expected from their upcoming PPV.

Keep Over Paying To Win Bids; You Won't Stick Around Long No Matter How Much $ U Have

So they over bid to make a statement but that won't last if they keep doing this at each purse bid. Quillin doesn't want to fight anyone, and it'll be interesting how deep this card looks.
