Comments Thread For: Green Says He Would Batter Mundine in Rematch

Former world champion Danny Green insists he'll be at peace even if a rematch against arch rival Anthony Mundine never eventuates.

But if the grudge match ever does go ahead, Green says it will only end in one way - with Mundine in tears.

Green hasn't fought since beating Kiwi Shane Cameron over 12 rounds in November, 2012.

Speculation of a Green-Mundine re-match intensified last month after Green met up with Mundine's manager Khoder Nasser.

However, the differential in weight between the two fighters remains the biggest stumbling block, and perhaps a hurdle that may never be overcome.

Green weighed in at 87.1kg before his last fight, while Mundine tipped the scales at 69.9kg in his recent shock loss to Joshua Clottey.

Why would Mundine be scared of Green when he schooled him so easily, it was one of Mundines easiest wins. Green was a career supermiddleweight he held the interim WBC, and twice lost to Beyer for the real WBC strap all at 168lb. He never complained about the weight until after Mundine embarrassed him. The first fight was a fair fight 2 men in their prime both in their chosen weight class and Mundine won easily , end of story.

Shock Loss to Clottey? The dude is a solid B-level fighter that punked a D-level fighter hard. Doesn't matter if Clottey has been "on vacation"
