Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder: A Fight With Klitschko Has To Be Made!

Deontay Wilder will be keeping busy this Saturday night when he takes on a Jason Gavern at the Stub Hub Center in Carson, CA as a fight with WBC Heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne looms for November. Wilder is known to stay active and taking on Gavern is a way to keep the rust off and be even more prepared for his upcoming assignment.

While the 2008 Olympics Heavyweight bronze medalist has his eyes set on Stiverne, Wilder also has the current WBA, IBF and WBO Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitshcko on his radar. The Klitschko brothers which included the now retired Vitali, have dominated the division for the last several years. The titles were basically held hostage by both brothers until Vitali finally vacated his WBC title which Stiverne now holds. [Click Here To Read More]

Although this is probably the only intriguing fight in the HW division, watch Klit end of fighting some obscure euro journeyman that no one has ever heard of before.

Wilder has punchers chance, a fat one around say 10%. He is fast, long and powerful. But he has not the timing or the dexterity or the cerebrum to pull it off except under truly lucky circumstances.

Reality is, Wilder is a green, he has no pedigree compared with WK, has nothing of a record compared to WK.

WK hits atleast as hard as Wilder, he just doesn't commit everything into an aggressive early KO like Wilder.

WK has much better chin that Wilder and better stamina.

WK would catch Wilder good very early because Wilder will rush him.

I expect this fight to ironically be one of WK's faster knockouts!

Wilder himself is basically an obscure journeyman until he fights something other than obscure journeymen.

The fact that you think this is the only intriguing fight in the HW division says it all. No need to elaborate.

Wilder's power is overrated imho. He's never knocked out anyone who hasn't previously been laid out by someone else. As for Malik Scott, we all know what happened there.

If Wilder beats Stiverne Klitschko is going to fight him. Don`t forget some of the no names Klitschko had to fight because they were mandatories and without fighting them he had lost the titles. Klitschko mentioned in many interviews that he wants to unify, I´m sure the fight happens!

Jumping the gun a bit aren't we? I don't see this guy getting past Stiverne.

I'm sure your next opponent will be sufficient preparation for Klitschko.

Nah, I actually don't mind Wilder, but he has yet to face a decent opponent (I'm excluding the fixed fight against Scott), so any talk of him facing Klitschko can't be taken seriously at this point.

Klitschko is fighting Pulev next. Who is Wilder fighting?
