Comments Thread For: Kameda-Hernandez Purse Bid is Won By Warriors

The bids are in for the mandatory fight between WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda (30-0, 19KOs) and top rated challenger Alejandro Hernandez (28-10-2, 15KOs). Warriors Boxing, taking part on behalf of Kameda, secured the rights with a bid of $603,000 dollars. All Star Boxing, who have Hernandez, bid far less at $151,000 dollars. The date and location of the fight will be announced in the coming days.

Kameda debuted last month in the United States as part of the Saul Alvarez-Erislandy Lara undercard from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He knocked out Pungluang Sor Singyu in seven rounds. After the fight he signed an agreement with influential manager/adviser Al Haymon.

          Hopefully it gets on Showtime

I've only seen Kameda fight that one time on the Canelo-Lara undercard but I was impressed by him. That body shot KO was nasty... Hopefully the Haymon signing gets him more exposure on US networks

Good for them getting this kind of money. Hernandez is a journeyman who has no real chance of beating Kameda, but at least he'll get paid well to lose.

Kameda is a beast, I am looking forward to see him in action after that KO Of the year candidate bodyshot KO.

I don't care if his opponent has 10 losses

                Wharrrrrr Kamedaaaaaa!!!!!!!

I believe this is a result of the Chinese market. Why did they bid so much? They have it. I know Kameda is Japanese, but a market that big bleeds money.
