  • Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: Very Important To Look Good With Salka

WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (28-0, 16KOs) needs to look good on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. He headlines the Showtime televised card in a non-title fight against huge underdog Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs).

From the moment the fight was officially announced, fans have criticized the bout from top to bottom. Garcia was not impressive earlier this year when pulled out a controversial twelve round decision over Mauricio Herrera. There were many who scored the fight in favor of Herrera. Garcia will have to make statement against Salka, and the champion knows that anything short of a spectacular win is a disappointment.

Hank Lundy went in hard on Danny Garcia:

PC: I'm sure you read what Danny Garcia had to say regarding a fight with you. What are your thoughts?

HL: Yeah, I see what he had to say, and like I told him, I reached out to him on his lil' network. I even had my people go down there to his gym. But you know, I'm the realest in this game. I don't pump fake or nothing, but on that note of him saying I'm just trying to get a check, it ain't even about a check. If I want money, I'll come see you and take it. I just want what's rightfully mine. I'm rated in the WBC #4; step up and fight somebody that's real. This guy he is fighting, nobody never heard of him. Come on, now. Let's be serious. They know this dude ain't relevant. That's why his belt not on the line anymore. This dude is a joke. He is a god damn joke. It's crazy. Im'a give respect, you know...I'm not giving no respect, man. **** that! I'm on go. When his pop had cancer, you know what I mean, they forget I was the only mother****er around getting outfits made, and his moms said, "No, I'm gonna charge you less," and I said, "No, charge me the full price. That way, your family can eat," because his pop was down and nobody wasn't making no money. He forget I was pro before him. He forget when he was coming down to these gyms, I was ****ing him up and leaving him bloody. Don't forget that because I'm in these streets for real. I'm in the hood for real and he know I whooped that ass and I will do the same thing to him as a pro.

Trash fight no doubt but don't say he's a bum. Y'all sound foolish. And who gives a damn about Lundy??? What's he ever done??? Don't let your dislike for Garcia and this **** fight get to y'all to the point that y'all start talking non sense. After this crap, he's going to get right back to fighting legit fighters. Lucas and then Herrera who showed he's no tune up. After Ronaldo Salkalaka it's Peterson. Then ww.

I'm calling the upset right now.

Salka's movement and speed troubles Danny for a few rounds and then he goes into caveman mode looking for one big shot.... all while Salka is outworking him and scoring points. Garcia will come out in the late rounds with his hands down, I can see him being a bit fatigued.... then BOOM... a shot flush to the chin knocks down Danny and Salka goes in for the kill but doesn't have enough power

The KD solidifies it for Salka

Salka wins a split decision, 115-113. IMHO
