Comments Thread For: N'Dam-Stevens Tops ESPN's FNF, 10/1 in Santa Monica

The IBF middleweight title eliminator between Hassan N'Dam and Curtis Stevens finally is set.

The bout will headline ESPN2's Friday Night Fights from The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, on Oct. 1, N'Dam's manager Gary Hyde told BoxingScene.com on Wednesday.

The winner of the matchup will be the mandatory to 160-pound beltholder Sam Soliman.

"Myself and Hassan are super confident that he will be victorious when he fights Curtis Stevens in their final eliminator Oct. 1st," Hyde said. "Hassan's powerful promoter Michael King won the bid to host the show which will give Hassan home advantage."

Normally I'd say N'Dam goes down a hundred times and gets back up but not sure if he can take Steven's punches. If he can box and avoid exchanges, he may fair well. N'Dam has a warrior heart, he is a busy fighter, sometimes throwing punches without really focusing, but brings it. If he falls and can get up, he will, that is certain. He showed that against Quillin. Solid fight.

Stevens always brings it, and I think he'll catch N'Dam enough times to swing the fight in his favor. N'Dam is slick and busy, but I don't think Quillin hits as hard as Stevens. And N'Dam can be caught fairly easily.

Would say Ndam can win this. But African fighters r really unpredictable. They seem to fight just to hang around without much killer instinct, kind of like distance runners. Stevens is kind of small though...

N'dam-Stevens is a great main event for espn... This will be a good fight with a great contrast of styles.. Boxer vs puncher... Should be an excellent fight and the winner will get a big fight

I am really looking forward to this fight, I am big fan of Stevens' and the style clash should make for a great fight. Fight could go either way, Stevens while a big puncher is not a very good boxer, and N'Dam is persistent and has great heart. Peter "if Al Haymon is in my corner anything is possible" Quillin has pretty good power and wasn't able to keep N'Dam down, so I am not sure Stevens will considering he is significantly smaller.

Very good matchup and interesting fight. ESPN has really stepped their game up this year. I miss being able to catch great fights on regular cable or network tv.

Nothing wrong with fighting on ESPN FNF at all, I agree they're having a good year but it can be EVER BETTER for them if they was to get behind it 100%, maybe do some of the events on their Main ESPN Channel and do some Saturday Events especially when HBO and Showtime are not showing fights.
