  • Comments Thread For: Saunders: If Chris Eubank Jr. Has a Pair, Let's Fight!

Manchester - Billy Joe Saunders' dream of becoming the first traveller to win a world title proved to be alive and well as he despatched Emanuele Blandamura in eight rounds to win the vacant European middleweight title. At just 24 years of age the 2008 Olympian has already established himself as the country's best at domestic level, owning the British title. Saunders (19-0, 10KO wins) was eager to impress against 34-year-old Blandamura (22-0, 5KOs), who was unbeaten coming in but having never faced anyone of note.

Billy Joe Saunders should be careful what he wishes for I think... Warren won't fancy this fight for him, he hasn't got many fighters or prospects left.

Saunders has faced much better opposition. Eubanks Jr opposition is just laughable.

Yeah I'd agree with that. Dont think it'd be an easy fight for Saunders tho, and I'd give Eubank Jr the physical advantage.

It's hard to say how good Eubank Jr is. He's looked great against bums.

Saunders is a fighter with great potential. He has had some great opposition for his learning fights. He realizes what Eubank really is.

Billy has beaten 4 unbeaten fellow prospects in his career including Fletcher who is challenging for a title although not real, but still a title nonetheless against Jacobs. Saunders' last 3 opponents:

            1) 22-0
            2) 15-0
            3) 16-0

All of whom are prospects and not those bums that gotta 20-0 record against 0-10 fellow bums.

Chris Eubank's last three opponents are not only laughable, but his last opponent was 19-3 and his previous 3 wins were against guys who were:

            1) 0-3
            2) 0-1
            3) 0-8

Sorry, to go all boxrec on everybody, but Saunders walks through Eubank and makes easy work of him and ends the hype as Chris is just riding off of a surname. Eubank has 17 fights and hasn't even fought for the English title where as Saunders is British, CW and European champion with in 20.

Eubank has done absolutely nothing. Refer to Post 6 where I elaborated on my point.

Wow, the new Groves vs DeGale.

Wonder where they will be in 3 year's time.

Come on Eubank, you talk a good fight so now lets have it. You owned Froch and Degale in sparring so what you scared of Saunders for?
Saunders is a novice like you with only 19 fights, you shouldn't consider Saunders much of a step up. He has potential just like you, but the reason hes further down the line, is because he isn't as cautious as you are.
