Bradley Saunders might have only had ten fights but his promoter Frank Warren thinks that the 28 year old will go close to emulating stable mate Paul Butler’s record English boxing feat of winning a world title in just 16 professional contests.
So far, eight of Saunders’ opponents have either been stopped, knocked out or had to retire such is the Sedgfield’s natural and ruthless punching power. Last time out, former European title challenger Ville Piispanen was supposed to provide the sternest test yet for the crowd pleasing Saunders. But in the first round, an effortless and crippling body shot ended the Finn’s fight before it had even started.
