Both Trout and Angulo weighed above 170 when they fought Canelo and Lara wasn't far behind at 166. JMW's are huge at the moment not just Canelo. Most of these guys can fight at 160. Look at other guys like Rosado, Andy Lee, Willie Nelson, and Kirkland. Andrade is a huge JMW too. The only fighter Canelo has had a huge weight advantage on (in his last 4) was Mayweather. Most fighters these days are cutting weight.

it's clear that he wants to maintain a weight advantage against all of his opponents.

plus you have ggg at 160. canelo doesn't want to be a good boy.

Probably because 160 isn't that good right now. Once he moves up, there is no returning to 154. He still has good fights at 154 like Molina, Kirkland and Andrade. We still don't know if Cotto is staying at MW so the only good MW fight for Canelo is with GGG. Eventually, he will have to move up to 160 anyway. I don't see what the rush is.
