Comments Thread For: Teddy Atlas Angry: Lara Won, Promoter's Fighter Got It

Teddy Atlas, expert analyst for ESPN's Friday Night Fights, explained why he believes WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-2-2, 12KOs) should have won a decision over Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

He felt Canelo was exposed at times by Lara, in the same way Floyd Mayweather Jr. was able to exploit Canelo's weaknesses last September at the same venue. Canelo was unable to land anything of note when Lara controlled the distance and accurate punches.

Teddy cant predict s winner before a fight and now its evident that he can't pick the correct winner after a fight either

"Exposed"? What did Lara expose about Canelo that we hadn't already known?

That was a hell of a good rant. Teddy didn't call it a robbery, he b*tched about the one bad judge, which he should. 117-111 is indefensible.

Thanks Teddy. One honest person who faces the truth and speak clearly. No way Canelo won when he connected less than Lara and most of the rounds he was fighting the air like a slow potatoes bag.

he didn't land too many less blows, and he was the harder puncher overall. lara is a sharp puncher, but he throws a lot of pawing jabs to set up his left, and that's what inflated his total number of landed punches. body shots count, you know.

anybody who thinks this was a robbery, or that the fiht wasn't close, doens't know boxing. you just don't.

jaja. He didn't say was a robbery. He said Lara won because promoters moved their money. What a different meaning jajaja
