Comments Thread For: David Price on Facing Anthony Joshua in Big Fight

A few years ago, Olympic bronze medal winner David Price (18-2, 15KOs) was viewed as a rising hope in the heavyweight division for the UK. His career took a big hit in 2013 after suffering back to back TKO defeats to Tony Thompson.

He signed a promotional agreement with Germany based Sauerland Event and now he's back with three wins already in the bag in 2014, and a fourth fight to come in December.

Now another British hope is on the rise, 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Anthony Joshua (7-0, 7KOs), who faces Yaroslav Zavorotnyi on August 30th. Price went the ten round distance with Zavorotnyi earlier this year. Joshua's performance against the same opponent will raise comparisons with Price and may even start the slow build of a potential fight.

Have you seen that Hugh Jackson film with the boxing super-robots?

That is what this is - two pumped up, robots trying to box.

The HW division is an utter joke if this is the 'future'.

I don't know why people are dissing Joshua. In my opinion he has the goods to be the next face of the heavyweight division. He's has tremendous power, skilled for a big man and so far has not shown to have a weak chin.

Price does have good power, but his chin was weak from the start. He was handily beaten and stopped by Camarelle in the olympics, a fighter that Price took the best he could throw and beaten for the gold medal.

          He has a bright future.

Joshua would starch the Big Stiff Idiot within about 30 seconds of the first round.

Don't want to get too carried away but I think Joshua would flatten pretty much every heavy in the uk at the moment

I like price he's a nice bloke but he would get stretched out within 4 . Sad but true

David Price would get stopped very early.

I rated Price highly but always had reservations about his chin and gas tank.
Same thing go's with Anthony he carries a lot of muscle so I wonder how he does down the stretch and he will have to fight late because he don't hit like Wilder or imo even Price either though he can dig for sure. Im not entirely sold yet but im impressed with what ive seen so far, he's spiteful too, mean in there and I like that in a heavyweight
