BoxingScene.com has been advised that junior middleweight contender Glen Tapia (21-1, 13KOs) is looking for a new opponent. Tapia was scheduled to face Boyd Melson (14-1-1, 4KOs) on the Gennady Golovkin-Daniel Geale undercard on July 26th at New York's Madison Square Garden. Melson suffered a shoulder injury in camp and withdrew from the fight. Top Rank is looking for a replacement. Meanwhile, Tapia continues to prepare with new trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California.
