Farenas deserves a shot, but he'll get outboxed. He hits hard enough to do damage, but he'll quit throwing after he gets countered. Mendez was reduced to posing and defense, while Rances refused to go in for the kill. Rances kind of reminds me of Rigo.

This fight would play out like the Usmanee fight in a way IMO. Hopefully Barthelemy learned something from that fight and watches Gamboa vs Farenas. He can outbox Farenas easily. No ****yness and just box and he wins. If the KO comes take it but that's no easy task.

I like Farenas too, but Rances has more options. Like used cars, Farenas has a hot rod for sale, Rances has SUVs, ATVs, LEs. In the end we get the little old lady from Pasadena. The movement will frustrate Farenas, and the counters will make him cautious.

Mendez didn't allow Barthelemy show much, and I haven't seen Barthelemy in a tough fight.

From what I've seen from recent nights I think Farenas would give him a grueling fight and definitely chin check him.
