Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is still unsure as to who IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs) will face in the fall. After drawing 80,000 fans for his eight round TKO over George Groves in May, Froch is looking for the biggest fight possible.
Hearn has reached out to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum to make a fight between Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., but the Mexican boxer is having promotional issues with Top Rank.
The more likely option is unbeaten James DeGale (19-1, 13KOs), who is Froch's IBF mandatory. Froch has to face DeGale by February of next year. In the event it won't be DeGale, Hearn already set aside a tentative date of October 11th at the O2 Arena.
