Well, can't knock the kid for he's only 6 fights in as a pro. Diego looms line he had a lot of talent. Most undeveloped, but he had plenty of time to learn.

Diaz was way too easy to hit and cant break an egg but he is busy so that will help with his lack of power. They are going to spoon-feed baby De La Hoya forever because of his name.

Gomez always gives and honest effort and for being 2 years off, he chose the type of guy you usually don't go right up against after a layoff, you take an easier fight and Gomez did not. Solid effort for the likable Gomez.

I thought Gomez was going to get robbed because of those knockdown callings.

                Gomez Wins

Alfonso showed good boxing skills, and strength to deal with young puncher. He deserves a big next fight and I agree he should take on a guy like Thurman. He fought well against Porter, beats this Paredes. Thurman hits harder and maybe more frequently but Alfonso can beat him to the body and outbox him. He deserves a shot at it! If Algieri gets Pacquaio then Alfonso deserves the biggest fight they can find!

I can already see that if Pacquiao-Algieri gets made it's going to have a negative trickle down effect on the sport.

Alfonso Gomez is a likeable fighter though and always gives a good effort win or lose.
