TOOWOOMBA'S Brayd Smith maintained his unbeaten professional record while his Smithy's Gym training partner Will Young claimed a special place in Darling Downs boxing history at Rumours International last night.
Smith took his career record to 10 wins when he overpowered Jarrett "Juarez" Owen for the WBC World Youth Silver Featherweight title.
Owen - who took the fight at short notice in place of visa-less Tanzanian Jay Jay Ngotiko - was knocked down twice in round two before his corner threw in the towel to end the bout.
