Comments Thread For: Crawford vs. Gamboa Clash is a Ratings Hit For HBO

Everything about Terence Crawford’s rallying 9th round knockout of Yuriorkis Gamboa turned out to be a huge success, from the ring results to the crowd and now in terms of viewing audience.

HBO ended the first half of its 2014 boxing schedule with a ****, with their June 28 event drawing an average audience of 1.208 million viewers. The show marked the first time that HBO televised a boxing event from Omaha, Nebraska, and all indications suggest there is more to come.

Great. I for one was looking forward to this fight and had about 6 of my boys over to watch.

Crawford is going to catch on. He's already matching Ward's best ratings

When you put on good (or great) fights, people will watch. Simple as that.

As long as Terrence has a dance partner like Gamboa, he'll do great. But how many match-ups like that are there in his future? Let's see where Crawford goes from here.

these are the fights people want to watch, exciting fights, put on fights like these and people will watch it,put on guys who do nothing but hug and run around and people will just get their remote and change it to something else, and the audience will just walk out of arena and start booing,,,keep bringing Crawford back

I agree we should wait and see.... But I think the numbers are more of him being built up by HBO on undercards

great,i also invite people over when I know its a fighter who will make it exciting,i would never invite people over to watch someone like Miguel Vazquez or jesse vargas, those type of fighters,i just couldn't put them through that kind of torture
