  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Crawford-Gamboa Not Another 'Appearance' Fight

Knee replacement surgery last week will leave Bob Arum to watch the Terrence Crawford-Yuriorkis Gamboa fight from a comfortable chair Saturday night, far away from Omaha, Neb.

The polarizing promoter is still very eager to tune in to HBO to watch Crawford make the first defense of his WBO lightweight title.

“The thing I like about this fight is this is not just a title defense or an appearance fight,” Arum said. “This is the best two lightweights in the world. I think it’s a tremendous fight. I like Crawford’s chances. A lot of people like Gamboa’s chances. It’s a real, real fight.”

Arum is such a passive aggressive, senile old ****.

Koncz is secretly working for Arum, and Pac is paying the price, losing millions everty fight that he should be getting, except Koncz doesn't bother negotiating like he should.

"But Haymon=Saddam Hussein doe. Arum=Martin Luther King"

i'm actually moderately impressed by 50 cent.

gamboa is a contender at 135, and he's in a big fight tonight.

i literally thought 50 cent was involving himself with boxing for publicity. i'm sure that's aprt of his motivation, but now he's got a guy with a chance to get a huge win at 135.

Seriously? 50 Cent is a complete failure as a promoter, Gamboa will never fulfill his potential as he's wasted the last 2 years of his prime since signing with 50. He's already 32, and at a light weight class.

Dirrell was coming back after the Abraham fight, with Haymon, winning a few fights on SHO. Then he dropped Haymon...and now look.

If you are "impressed" by 50 Cent promoting, you must be amazed by Snooki

It's what Arum has been doing for longer than most have been watching boxing in these forums. Is Arum perfect? No, but he has shown he is willing to put top talent against each other. Does he build them up and showcase? Yes, but that's a part of the game folks. Stars are built up and showcase fights are necessary. EVERY fighter has to be built up.. It's just some of these posters on here coming with the same old.

We all keep hating on Bob buuut he's been making big fights with other promoters recently too Dibella with Sergio against his cash cows : Chavez Jr & cotto, Crawford vs gamboa (50 cent promoted),
please take notes of what Schaeffer, Mayweather and Haymon have done to divide boxing and not unite it
