In a minor upset on paper, super featherweight Cesar Valenzuela won a six round unanimous decision over previous-unbeaten Erick Ituarte. There was little action between the two during the first two rounds, although Valenzuela (8-3-1, 3 KOs) pumped a consistent jab that landed in Ituarte's face. Ituarte (7-1-1, 1 KO) picked up the aggression in the third round, but Valenzuela was able to effectively counter with right crosses or uppercuts to the head. As the bout progressed, Ituarte tried to land one big punch, exposing himself to be repeatedly countered to the head and body. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Valenzuela, 59-55, 59-55, and 58-56.
