CARSON, Calif. – Former four-division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KOs), of Gilroy, Calif., capped a spectacularly exciting night of ferocious non-stop action where each fight was better than the last with a Fight Of The Year candidate 12-round unanimous decision over Yoshihiro Kamegai (24-2-1, 21 KOs), of Sapporo, Japan, Saturday on SHOWTIME®.

Guerrero, making his first start in 13 months, won by the scores 117-111 twice and 116-112. There were no knockdowns but both warriors pounded on each other and were battered and bruised at the finish at which time they were given a standing ovation by the 5,711 in attendance.

It may have appeared to be a galant effort, but it's the wrong way to fight after more than a year off. A toe to toe fight doesn't shake the ring rust properly, and none of the top fighters will fight him that way.

sure you did...even though you said you wanted to box before the fight...instead, you got dragged into a war by a C-level fighter with no defense...keep forcing Thurman to fight JMWs...he'd kill you
