Comments Thread For: WBC, IBF and WBA Presidents To Meet in Mexico

Contrary to hasty reports, three sanctioning body presidents are going to meet from June 22-23 in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. This congregation had been cooking for days, but with much discretion and secrecy. There is still no official press release to the boxing world.

Would be nice if they would just join forces to create one recognized champ. I know I'm simply dreaming though.

Get rid of Interims, Silvers, Supers, etc. While I like the idea of ONE champ, I don't mind multiple champs for unification. Something special about a unification bout. However they need to be on the same page and stop trying to make accommodations for inactivity.

Agree then keep the main four ABC belts and have a unification tournament between them every two years or something. Winner gets the Ring title and Ring champion has to participate in the tournament if he wants to keep it in case it changes hands between unifications.

Be good if they are discussing the light heavy weight and Super Middleweight divisions in particular

This is how you can end the boxing cold war between networks and promotional companies! If these sanctioning bodies can make other champs their mandatory challengers or rank people similarly, then everyone is going to have to fight or get stripped...

Whoever said the IBF have the most integrity is having a laugh. They order mandatorys I give them that but they didn't strip peterson when he tested positive. They let sam soliman challenge for the belt when he tested positive in his final eliminator. They all have their faults dont kid yourself.
