Comments Thread For: Shaw: Geale won’t be scared of Golovkin like Macklin was

Gary Shaw recognizes that many people think highly of Gennady Golovkin, the middleweight titleholder who Shaw’s fighter, Daniel Geale, will face on July 26 at Madison Square Garden.

“Maybe,” Shaw said in a June 6 interview with BoxingScene.com. “I have a lot of confidence in Daniel Geale. I don’t think Golovkin has fought anybody the quality of Daniel Geale. It’ll be a rough night for Golovkin. It’s not going to be an easy fight.”

Shaw reckons Geale isn't gonna be intimidated by GGG in the ring? Well that's good, but he may be walking in to the ring looking to bring the belt back to Oz, but he's leaving it in a stretcher!

Golovkin by brutal beating within 8 rounds!

Any fighter with sense has some fear of Golovkin in the ring. Fear doesn't have to be a bad thing. It can keep a fighter sharp.

At least Geale will finally be a real test. If Golovkin destroys Geale, then the hype he's been getting will have been deserved. The jury is still out in my mind.

The problem with geale is that he will just sit in the hitting zone staying busy and trying to apply his pressure but this is what will also get him knocked out.

Daniel leaves the ring via body bag

This is why I liked the potential Kirkland fight. He's a guy who would show no fear if they fought. That's a barrier you gotta get past by in order to have some success.

Pretty much this. Curtis Stevens wasn't scared of Golovkin either before the fight because of his good boy image but once he was in that ring he knew he was in trouble and practically fought scared. Golovkin is the real deal but other fighters think they have a shot before the fight but once it's time to fight they see Golovkin changes up his nice guy demeanor really quickly and the other fighters are in shock.

I've read this quote somewhere, they're bringing up GGG along quite slowly. Interesting fight hopefully Geale will be light on his feet.
