Comments Thread For: Sullivan Barrera-Jeff Lacy Set For June 21 Card

Wilkes-Barre, PA: The undercard for the June 21 match-up between Anatoliy "The Gladiator" Dudchenko (19-2, 13 KOs) and Nadjib Mohammedi (34-3, 20 KOs) is shaping up to be just as exciting as the main event. The highlight of the undercard is an eight-round light heavyweight fight between undefeated prospect Sullivan Barrera (11-0, 6 KOs) and former IBF Super Middleweight Champion Jeff Lacy (26-4, 18 KOs). This will be the toughest fight of Barrera's career thus far and an opportunity for both men to establish themselves as players on the light heavyweight scene.

until calzage ate his lunch!!! I remember it like it was yesterday the guy from wales pulled out of the fight from hand issues and every body thought he was scared. he put on a clinic afterwards, that was his highest moment. I was rooting for lacy that night.

When NBC starting showing boxing I got all excited and hoped it would take boxing back to the good old days of boxing on Saturday afternoons on free TV. With that said I have to ask why is NBC showing such insignificant fights? Main Events should be ashamed of some of these garbage main events fights they are peddling to NBC. This current one as well as anyone with a pulse against Curtis Stevens are great examples.

An impressive win vs an older Lacy can at least give Barrera some recognition. Sullivan doesn't do it for me though.
A few Cuban heavies with some potential are Luis Ortiz and Mike Perez with Yunier Dorticos ahead of the two.
