Comments Thread For: Froch: KO of Groves Gave Me Smile That Will Never Go

Carl Froch says sending George Groves "back down the hole he crawled out of" has left him the happiest man alive.

The double world super-middleweight champion finished his feud with Groves with a huge right hand in the eighth round of their record-breaking Wembley rematch on Saturday.

British boxing's biggest post-war crowd was there to witness a victory which had none of the controversy of Froch's ninth-round stoppage in November.

Groves' antagonistic attitude in the build-up to both fights left Froch unimpressed, but in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's win he spoke graciously about his younger rival. [Click Here To Read More]

Do you remember when groves beat degale in the pros after beating him in the amateurs and said "[no rematch] how many more times do I have to beat him?"

Carl should take the same attitude, I bet groves doesn't like it when he's on the receiving end.

Whats suprising Is that it was the best punch Froch has ever thrown yet Groves was still trying to get up within 10 seconds, so maybe Groves isn't chinny, or that it didn't land properly, maybe Groves rolled with the punch a bit.?

But it made me quite satisfied as well.

Froch by his own admission isn't a concussive puncher.

Yes, hes no Mike Tyson he said. But Frochs punches always seems to get the respect of his opponnents like its a battle for survival sometimes for them to last the distance.

Definitely replaced the Bute fight as the most satisfying fight I've watched in recent years.

From the second the first fight ended through the opening bell of the rematch, way too many people jumped on the bandwagon claiming Froch was shook, Froch was rattled, Froch didn't want it, Froch would duck, Froch was dragged kicking and screaming to sign the rematch, Froch wasn't confident, blah blah blah.

I don't like seeing fighters put out like Groves, but I do like when my favorite fighter proves people wrong in that fashion.
