Why Are the Charlo Twins Getting More Push Than Julian Williams?

You got 3 light middleweight prospects: Jermell and Jermall Charlo and Julian Williams. On last weeks card you saw Jermell Charlo with an overmatched opponent against him and he was content with just scoring his way to victory. He clearly won the fight but showed that he isn't a finisher and lacks killer instinct. Most of his fights have played out that way.

Jermall is more of a puncher than his brother but he still hasn't really been tested yet. He almost got a shot against Carlos Molina until he got hunted down by the feds.

Then you got Julian Williams. He hasn't been on ShowTime yet. They put him on ShowExtreme and Fox. He's knocked out his last 3 opponents and has shown that he is a much better finisher, has much more offensive variety and a much more fan friendly style than the Charlo brothers. They are all Haymon fighters so I don't get why Williams is getting the cold shoulder in favor of the Charlos.

I was wondering the same thing last weekend. It's like they are trying to push the charlo Bros down our neck while this Julian kid keeps on impressing on undercards. You wouldn't do that with James Kirkland, so why Williams?!

The Charlos are twin brothers, maybe GBP/Haymon think they are more marketable, even though Julian Williams seems to have a more fan-friendly style (at least than Jermell).

Jermell has more pro fights and the best wins (Rosado, Hopkins) but his last performance was very underwhelming. No way Jermall deserved a title shot. Julian Williams has a better resume than Jermall, and he has proven himself in his last three fights. We may see him on Showtime next. Keep in mind than Jermall hasn't fought on Showtime either, only Shobox and Fox.

What's funny is that Julian Williams mentioned this in a post-fight interview on Fox. He said something like "I don't have a twin brother (Charlo bros). I don't rap (Broner??). I have to impress in the ring etc."

Funny. I don't remember that interview but I know I saw that fight. He basically said what everybody else has.
