Jerry Ferrara, known for his role as Turtle on HBO’s “Entourage,” will play the late Arturo Gatti in an upcoming biopic.

According to Variety, the film will be produced by Pro Football Hall of Famer and current TV personality Michael Strahan, in association with SMAC Entertainment’s Constance Schwartz, Sandy Kyrkostas of 24p Media Group and Pat Lynch, Gatti’s longtime manager.

Hmmm, odd pick to say the least.

Love him in Entourage though. Is that on netflix? I just got the urge to watch through every season.

Yeah, not too excited about this news. Some folks may consider Gatti a B-level fighter in terms of talent, but I think we all agree that his story deserves A-list talent. This sounds like it may go straight to Redbox.

I love Entourage, and I love him as Turtle, but I have doubts if he's capable of doing this. I'm not saying he's a bad actor, but I think he works well in certain roles. I don't see this as one of them. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't get this, making a film about Gatti, why? No disrespect to Gatti and may his soul rest in peace but the guy was a certified bum. His story is no different from any other struggling b-level pugilist's story. There's not one outstanding accomplishment of note that Gatti has made in boxing but they continue to push this Gatti crap. I ,personally, have nothing against Gatti, didn't know him, but he seems like a good likable guy, someone I could hang out with but the fact is he was a terrible boxer.

His story is juuuuust a tiny bit different than your average "struggling b-level pugilist." His talent is not relevant, his popularity is.
