Former champion Amir Khan is ready to take the show on the road to Dubai - if he doesn't land a fight in the fall with WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. There appears to be a scheduling issue that makes the fight unlikely.

Last year Khan was very close to facing IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander as part of a big event in Dubai. Khan decided to step back and focus his efforts on a May fight with Mayweather. He was passed over in favor of Marcos Maidana.

No Khan what made Ali a big star is not where he fought but who he fought. It will be interesting as always to see how they go about hand picking their next opponent because it's always as little risk for the greatest rewards, like a semi name or a slide guy, never a 50/50!...Ali would want to fight the best forget the risk.

Your post doesn't even make sense, Khan beat some of the top guys at 140, who has he handpicked? a come back fight against Molina? Fair dues but it's not like Diaz and Collazo were walk overs, in fact both guys were coming off some of their best performances.

And now Khan is calling out the best, the same way a 21 year old Ali called out Liston.

It would be pretty cool to see a boxing event in Dubai. It would be turned into a huge event over there, and Khan would make it a fun fight to see so the crowd would less likely be dull.

Khan maybe european (brit) boxer now but his blood is asian (pakistan/indian). but you are right, he should avenge his lost w/ Danny Garcia. Win it in excellent passion. That's the most significant fight for him to be able to get Floyd

If that's what you wana think, so be it. What Im just saying is, the poster maybe thinking that Amir Khan is an asian dude because of his name. So why bother argue with him? Let him think & express what he want & stick to boxing issue. The truth is, I dont even care where he came from. What I do care is his ability to box & impress people about his style.

If he fights in Dubai, I am going to go I think since I need to take one of my vacations out of the country to remain tax exempt this year. Was never a huge Khan fan, always thought he ducked Prescott and the Maidana rematches, but he has heart, is willing to fight anyone, and he puts it all on the line. I'm not gonna hate on the man for being confident and thinking he has the skills to beat the top guy/s. When a fighter starts doubting himself, it's over, that confidence is key.

Like I said, I used to really dislike the guy but the past year or so I started to warm up to him. Look forward to seeing what his next move is.

That would be pretty great to see a big fight over in Dubai. Can imagine it being a top drawer event (obviously would help having a good opponent/undercard, etc).
