Comments Thread For: Alvarado: Marquez Was Not as Sharp in Last Few Fights

BELL, CALIF. --- Mike Alvarado said he plans to retire Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez when they meet on Saturday night at The Forum on HBO.

"That will mean everything to me," Alvarado said of retiring the 40-year-old Marquez. "Everything I've worked hard for my whole life, you know, all the hard work that's been instilled in me since I was a kid. It's all coming out right now in these moments. At this moment in my career it means the world to me."

Alvarado will do good with the jab for a while, but he's going to slip up eventualy and Marquez is going to counter his @$$ hard! Dinamita by KO!!! No question.

his speech still isnt as bad as someone like sugar shane. its very sad to see, i mean its not like he was getting his ass knocked out thru his career but was in alot of fights against big punchers.

with shane u can tell he tries rly hard just to speak, making extra careful every word not to slur. its sad

Alvarado was seriously beaten up vs Rios I and Provo. It would be a miracle if he has a good showing in this one, esp vs a counter puncher like JMM.
