Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Eyes Cotto-Martinez Winner vs. Canelo, Lara

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya is really looking forward to the fight between Miguel Cotto and Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez, scheduled for June 7th at New York's Madison Square Garden.

De La Hoya was in Puerto Rico for the final stop of the press tour for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Erislandy Lara, which takes place on July 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He is very interesting in making a fight between the winners of both upcoming fights.

Welp, guess that means Lara needs a knock out. What are the chances GGG gets to fight the final winner out of these 4?

It's pretty obvious knowing they been dying to make Canelo vs Cotto/Martinez.

I have a feeling Canelo will fight Cotto regardless of the Cotto-Martinez outcome. If Cotto loses he can say 160lbs is too big for him and drop down to 154 and fight Alvarez. As for Martinez, Chavez has been saying he wants a Martinez rematch.
