Excellent fight, I thought this should have been Gavin's last opponent. The winner should be very close to a title shot. Maybe 1 more decent opponent after this one, considering the depth and no. of contenders at welterweight.

Gavin is a nobody at WW. Euro level fighter, as evidenced by his last fight.

How can you say Gavin is close to a world title shot when he hasn't fought anyone world class yet?

Think Gavin is going places, fights to the level of his opposition too often though. Lazy when making weight etc. He doesn't live to far from my old house in Bham.

That said Warren has moved him far too slowly he is already 28!

You dont have to have fought anyone world class to get a title shot? Half the 'world champions' out there have never fought anyone world class.

Canelo, Chavez Jr, GGG, Quillin all have titles, and when they got their title shot they hadn't fought anyone world class.

Because fighting world class opposition isn't a prerequisite to a world title shot...

Winning the European title which this would be for provides a good ranking. Both these guys are highly ranked in at least 1 of the sactioning bodies rankings and the winner would have a win over a well ranked opponent from this fight. I would be shocked if one of the sanctioning bodies didn't order the winner of this to fight in a title eliminator in their following fight, and I wouldn't actually be surprised if one of the bodies decided this was a sufficient eliminator.

Besides wins over Witter, Vassell and Bundu or Purdy, Jackiewicz and Gavin are solid enough to be considered for title shots/eliminators. It's only the depth of the division that makes this debatable in my opinion.

This'll show he's good.... at a European level. Let's see how well he does against a 39 year old euro level opponent
