  • Comments Thread For: Bermane Stiverne is Ready To Make Good on Long Wait

By Jake Donovan - You have to give Bermane Stiverne credit. The once-beaten heavyweight waited… and waited… and waited for his overdue title shot to arrive. Getting to that point meant winning on the road, waiting for the belt to become vacant, and then heading back on the road to face the very fighter he easily defeated to earn the title shot in the first place.

Yet through it all, the promotion for his May 10 rematch with Chris Arreola hasn’t entirely centered around the matchup itself. It has barely touched on Stiverne’s dominant performance last April, expect when repeatedly pointing to the fact that Arreola is in much better shape this time around.

In other words, Stiverne is once again asked to play the role of bridesmaid heading into Saturday’s affair at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. Until the final verdict is handed down this weekend, the show remains Chris Arreola versus what’s his name.

That’s alright with ‘the other guy.’ After all, he played the same role to perfection a year ago. [Click Here To Read More]

I was really impressed with Stiverne in his win against Arreola. He's got really good head movement and throws really straight shots. He was able to stand in the pocket and counter. He was also relaxed and extremely fluid with his punches and movement.

I hope Arreola learned how to slip punches, otherwise his nose is going to explode again.

I'm really looking forward to this fight on ESPN!!

Stiverne looks like Gabriel Casseus from New Jersey Drive.

Chris just never seems to be able to advance to the next level.
It's do or die for his career Saturday night and I suspect that this time he's going to do.

He's not going to anything but get rocked and dropped, just like the last fight.

I expect a better version of both fighters Saturday. Arreola has finally taken his career serious and it is quite obvious in his training and preparation and attitude.
