Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Maidana - Examining The Scorecards

In the eyes of many who were watching on television or from ringside, Floyd Mayweather had to come from behind, adjusting and battling back to take a majority decision over Marcos Maidana.

But in fact, two of the three official judges only had Mayweather down on the scorecards once — following the first round. After that, they had it a draw after two at one round apiece, and then had Mayweather ahead for the remainder of the night.

Seriously how could they not have given rounds 1 to 5 and round 8 not to Maidana, joke, after watching the fight second time it was a draw in my eyes and it could have been Maidana had Floyd not had the ref and two judges in his back pocket

smh Floyd outlanded him and the last six or 7 round pretty much was Floyds he out landed him.Just cause you thro a lot of punches dont mean they are connecting.I like Maidana but the ugliest style i have ever seen.at least Hatton, bundrage,Cloud get clean shots and dont rabbit punch.Dont mind ugly fights but keep it clean, and that knee along with the low blows

          What a shame

Had Maidana winning 7-5 115-113. Marcos won the 1st-5th, Floyd won the 6th-10th, and Chino stole the 11th and 12th rounds. Floyd was very uncomfortable during those rounds, however he adjusted very well to turn the tide. The worst decision should have been a draw. Mayweather knew he had lost the fight, he looked embarrassed before the decision was announced. Also at the post fight press conference he was very defensive when asked questions. Khan was docked a point for holding against Louie, same should've happened with Floyd. He was making it a clinch-fest. Chino controlled the tempo of the fight. Those 117-111 and 116-112 scorecards were a disgrace.

The majority rules card is spot on although last night I gave Maidana the 3rd.
