I have been a Mayweather fan, and I still think he's the most skilled boxer in the game, but the only thing more disappointing than his performance in the ring last night was his performance at the post-fight presser.

Floyd claims that he wanted to gave the fans a more exciting fight even though he could have made the bout a lot easier, but then he goes on to complain about the ref, suggest that he didn't want Maidana to wear Commission-approved gloves because "I have a life after boxing", and point out Maidana's fight-night weight, which was less than Canelo's and about the same as Victor Ortiz's.

All of this is internally inconsistent. If you're concerned about your health and taking unnecessary punishment, why would you decide to create more risk and take more punishment from a larger fighter just to give the fans a more exciting fight? I don't for a minute believe that Floyd, with his perfect record, massive financial guarantees and looming retirement, all of a sudden decided to give a fighter like Marcos Maidana an opening to land, according to ShoStats, more punches than any of his prior opponents because he felt compelled to produce excitement and give fans their money's worth. Mayweather did far more for his legacy outclassing Canelo than he did supposedly fighting down to Maidana's level.

The inconsistencies, coupled with Floyd's demeanor after the fight, leave little doubt in my mind: Maidana proved to be a tougher opponent than Floyd expected. Even if scorecards favoring Floyd by a round or two are entirely reasonable, anything less than a dominant performance is a moral loss for Floyd at this point given his TBE campaign.

Well put bro! I agree 100%. It would be ludicrous to believe that MAYWEATHER brawled with Maidana to give the fans an exciting fight. Maidana forced him to fight his fight. He's a bad dude. That's all there is to say about it.

Floyd should retire. The mystique is gone. There aren't any good fights out there the people really want (except Pac, I guess. I don't care about that fight at this point though.) Mayweather-Khan? No thanks

          Floyd got trapped.

Had Maidana not tired out in the later rounds Floyd would have been KO'd.

Now we all know that Floyd will never ever fight Pac.

Floyd kept on asking help from the ref. Really pathetic.

Was Floyd actually crying when he went to his corner and told his dad "He's using his head!!! He's using his head!!!"?

I was at home and I kept shouting "BAYOT!!! BAYOT!!! BAYOT!!!"

            That means 'f@gg0t'.
