Junior featherweight prospect Tramaine Williams — who had been arrested earlier this year just two days before he was to fight at Madison Square Garden — was sentenced today to two and a half years behind bars, according to Connecticut’s New Haven Register.
He was put in handcuffs in January and pleaded guilty in February to charges of possessing an assault weapon and possessing narcotics. Three months ago, police conducted raids on accused gang members and associates, and they went to a home Williams shared with others, finding a Tec-9 gun underneath his bed.
